The Oldest Hydro Plant On the Dnepr


The Dnepr Hydroplant is the fifth and the oldest in the series of hydro power plants on the Dnepr river. The plant is in the city of Zaporozhye. The building of the plant began in 1927 , the first aggregate was launched in 1932, and in 1939 the project capacity was achieved – 560 MW. In that time it was the biggest hydro plant in the USSR.



During the Second World War the dam of the plant was destroyed, and the equipment of the control room was demolished.
